Larry W. Brummett Foundation

Joining Hands Against Cancer. Providing support to cancer patients for essential needs that normalize life as much as possible.

About the Larry W. Brummett Foundation

Following their father’s death from adenocarcinoma of the small intestine in August 2000, Kari and Chris Brummett established a memorial that would best reflect the philanthropic spirit of their father and serve the needs of Oklahomans facing cancer.

Through the foundation, Kari and Chris are following their father’s belief that “to those who have much, much is expected.”

The foundation’s primary focus is to provide financial or negotiated in-kind support to cancer patients for essential needs that assist in daily living and/or help in normalizing life in a way that is otherwise unmet by other charitable organizations.

Request Assistance

The Larry W. Brummett Foundation partners with the Tulsa Community Foundation (TCF). TCF administers Brummett Foundation funds and oversees the disbursement of grant funds and/or in-kind services to selected cancer patients. Currently, grants of $250 are provided to eligible individuals to support basic needs, including the purchase of medicines or the payment of utility bills.

2018 Grant Cycle: Completed applications will be reviewed once per month. Applicants are eligible for one grant from the fund this year.

Applications will be considered complete when three items are received:

  • application
  • basic needs bill that patient needs help to pay (i.e. pharmacy print out, utility bill, rent notice, etc.)
  • documentation of active treatment (i.e. bill noting chemo or radiation, note from care provider or social worker, etc.)

Applying for Help

Grants are available to residents of northeastern Oklahoma who are oncology patients currently in active treatment.
