Agency Inquiries

Will Tulsa Community Foundation (TCF) assist my agency in finding funding?

TCF maintains records of whether donors want to be alerted to possible funding opportunities or left to make recommendations on their own.  When possible, we will notify prospective donors if their philanthropic interests match your agency’s charitable mission.

 

Can nonprofit agencies directly request gifts from TCF donors?

No.  TCF cannot and will not release the names and/or contact information for any of its donors.

 

Does TCF have a meeting room which can be reserved for meetings by local nonprofits?

Yes, as long as it does not conflict with an existing meeting scheduled by TCF staff.  Please contact us at 918-494-8823 or info@tulsacf.org to make a reservation.  Our offices are open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. TCF has a board room for up to 24 participants and two smaller conference rooms that seat 4-6 people comfortably.

 

Will TCF fund my cause?

In general, TCF itself does not make discretionary grants.  However, our staff does maintain contact with donors who may be interested in funding your cause.

 

How do I set-up an agency fund?

Just call (918-494-8823) or e-mail ( info@tulsacf.org) TCF.  TCF will set-up an appointment for you to meet with one of our staff members to discuss your charitable needs and how TCF can assist in meeting them.

 

What are the advantages of creating an agency fund at TCF?

In addition to strong investment performance, advantages include fund awareness, challenge grant opportunities, assistance with planned giving, acceptance of complex gifts, donor peace of mind and the accessibility of funds in the Agency fund account.

 

Who legally controls funds which have been contributed to TCF?

Tulsa Community Foundation legally controls the funds and employs routine audits and other generally accepted accounting principles.

 

Who serves as the advisors for a charitable agency fund?

The agency selects three advisors for the fund. Any two of these advisors may advise the foundation on matters pertaining to the fund, except as otherwise stipulated in an Agency’s specific fund agreement with TCF.

 

What is TCF’s spending policy?

TCF’sspending policy determines the amount of funds the foundation generally makes available for distribution in a given year.   Per TCF’s current spending policy, TCF will distribute a maximum of 5.1% of the account’s market value as of the preceding December 31st.  Market value is defined for this purpose by taking an average of the market values for the past eight quarters in order to reduce distribution volatility.

 

How long does it take for a grant distribution requests to be processed?

Please allow a window of 10 business days for grant requests to be processed and mailed to your agency.  However, TCF staff members strive to process all distribution requests as quickly as possible.
