Charitable Fund Options

Tulsa Community Foundation (TCF) offers a range of charitable fund types to meet the specific needs and charitable desires of each nonprofit agency.

Charitable Agency Funds – Supporting high-impact organizations.

With charitable agency funds, nonprofit organizations function as both the “donor” and the “beneficiary.” Charitable agency funds enable local and national nonprofit organizations to establish a permanent pool of assets while leaving the time-consuming financial management responsibilities to TCF. With the additional monies generated by the fund, the agency is less dependent on the success of future fundraising efforts or economic climates.

Charitable agency funds may also be established by a donor or group of donors to perpetually support a specific nonprofit agency. Annual distributions are made to the agency for operational or program support. Charitable funds secure the mission of a nonprofit organization. A wise move for any nonprofit group, these funds may be opened with $5,000.

Scholarship Funds – Rewarding deserving students.

With a scholarship fund, an agency extends the legacy of philanthropy by assisting students with various needs in education and training. The agency chooses the scholarship selection criteria such as the high school or university attended, field of study or hometown of students. TCF then creates and manages the student application and award process. As the pool of applicants narrows, agency personnel may assist in the final selection process as well.

Scholarship funds may be opened with a donation of $5,000 or more.  Learn more about TCF’s current scholarship funds.

Designated Funds – Investing in sustainability.

Donors with ties to a specific nonprofit agency, cause or institution may choose a designated fund. Upon the establishment of a designated fund, the donor designates a specific charitable organization or cause as the perpetual recipient of the income and/or principal from the fund, ensuring a future funding. Should the organization cease to exist or change its mission, TCF retains the authority and responsibility to reallocate the gift to another charitable organization that most closely reflects the donor’s original intent. Designated funds may be opened with a donation of $5,000 or more.
