Tulsa Community Foundation administers more than thirty funds that can help individuals with their personal needs. The majority of these funds have employer-specific qualifications. The programs below are open to the eligible public.

Assistance during Oncology Treatment

Tulsa Community Foundation administers several programs designed to assist oncology patients during active treatment.  If a financial hardship has been incurred due to the costs surrounding treatment for cancer, grants are provided from these funds to meet household needs. Grant applications are accepted year round. Donations of any size are accepted to these funds.

Larry W. Brummett Foundation Fund (funding not available at this time)

Providing short-term financial support to cancer patients experiencing severe financial need during treatment.

Larry W. Brummett was a dedicated father and friend to man. His vision and leadership as ONEOK, Inc.’s chairman helped transform the company into an energy giant. In August 2000, at age 49, Larry Brummett lost a courageous battle with cancer. The Larry W. Brummett Foundation was established following the belief that “to those who have much, much is expected.” For more information, click here.

Applications for assistance from this Fund are currently paused for 2023 due to limited funding capacity.

Lorie Lord Breast Cancer Foundation Fund

Providing short-term financial support to breast cancer patients experiencing severe financial need during treatment.

Lorie A. Rupe Lord was a loving, positive soul who focused her life on family and helping others.  While she was active in community service endeavors, her husband and three children were truly the center of her life.  Lorie passed away in April 2008, after an 8-year battle with breast cancer. The Lorie Lord Breast Cancer Foundation works to honor Lorie and continue her legacy of caring for others. Oklahoma Cancer Specialists Cares Fund

Providing short-term financial support to OCSRI patients experiencing severe financial need during treatment.

Patients receiving active treatment at Oklahoma Cancer Specialists And Research Institute may request funding.  Typically gift cards totaling $250 are available to patients to help meet their basic household needs while in treatment.

Oncology Assistance

For Medical Assistance, eligible applicants must:

  • Be experiencing financial hardship
  • Live in northeastern Oklahoma
  • Currently be receiving active treatment
